This contract involved the rehabilitation and widening of an 88km section of the Northern Luzon Expressway, one of the main roads connecting North Luzon with Manila. Working under extremely demanding conditions on a day-to-day programme issued by the main contractor, Anderson Asphalt Philippines accomplished completion to the highest international standards. All asphalt contained a high degree of recycled asphalt reclaimed from the existing road surface, and reprocessed in Anderson's mixing plant which was at the time the largest asphalt recycling plant in Asia, which resulted in significant savings of raw materials and hence reduced the environmental impact of the project.
