The Majuro International Airport project located in the Republic of the Marshall Islands involved the milling and overlay of the existing runway, while ensuring that there was no disruption to the air traffic movements.

Due to the remoteness of the location, the lack of specialist asphalt equipment, and scarce natural resources in the region, all asphalt production, laying equipment and raw materials had to be imported to the island from either Hong Kong, The Philippines or Korea.
